Our History
The Labour Law Practitioners’ Association, Mumbai was formed in the year 1966. It is registered under the Societies’ Registration Act and also Public Trust Act under the leadership of Shri P. D. Kamerkar.
The first employer to become an Associate Member was a Biscuit Company by the name Renown Biscuit Company and the first trade Union was the Engineering Mazdoor Sabha, Mumbai.
In the year 1975, the Labour Courts and Industrial Courts were set up in Thane and the Association had to extend its activities. The Practitioners at Thane Labour Courts and Industrial Court were part and parcel of this Association and in 1991 they have formed a separate Association. Since then, the library maintained by our Association at Thane has become the library of the Labour Law Practioners Association, Thane.
